The density is simply how much a 12" x 12" x 12" piece of foam weights.
PU comes in a variety of densities ranging from 1 pound to 3 pounds per cubic foot
The most popular density is 1 pound material.
The higher the density, the more expensive the foam will be.
IFD is a measurement only used for PU foam.
IFD tells you how many pounds of pressure it takes to compress the foam. The higher the IFD is the firmer the material will be. The lower the IFD, the softer the foam will be. We usually ask if you want your foam to be soft, medium, or firm to help us determine what IFD you are needing.
